Answer is simple. Buy a leon, save 4 grand and spend £800 on a suspension upgrade that will give you better handling than the golf. you still saved 3 grand.

Does your suspension make the ride more comfortable? The ride was a bit too firm on the FR I testdrove.

With the Golf fon’t forget it will be 3 door in standard fit, this was the breaker for me as I've just become a daddy. I hate the GTI look in 5 door guise.
I will admit the GRI had a certain air about it, but looks wise the FR has it in spades. I cleaned it yesterday and it really turned heads on the way to work this morning.
You could tell anyone you had a GTI and they would know you meant you had a Golf GTI. If I say I have a Leon you have to make the point it is an FR and I often say a GTI in drag for people not in the know which is slightly sad. I still however think I made the right choice with my FR.

Just tried i GTI and R32 today but I stille like the Leon more. Do not like the design of the Golf and the handling is all most the same.

Prices here in Denmark
Leon FR: 34.000 pund
Leon Cupra: 38.500 pund
GTI: 44.000 pund
R32: 53.000 pund

I went for the Leon because it was basically the GTi but for about 4 grand less and a lower insurance group, which was the most important thing because of my age. If i had the money id probably have gone for the GTi in white, but i still love my new car and dont have any complaints.

Im waiting on my new leon fr tdi arriving this week and thats the reason I went for one too.. It was far cheaper for higher spec and the insurance group is good too..

"The Deal Negotiator" can do you a Leon FR TFSI with DSG for £16195. UK car from a proper dealership too!

With the 18"s you'd be looking at £16500. Just a little cheaper than the Golf :)

My leon cost me £16300 from a dealer, includes
18" wheel upgrades
Black magic paint upgrade
Bluetooth upgrade
1 years road tax
Cherished transfer

not bad eah? :p
