Cheers JollyGiant.

They never called back in the end, so I guess I'll look for the part myself - at least I know what to expect to pay for the part. Not sure if I want to pay to get it fitted because it could end up being easier if it's not too much extra.

Nice. I raced a 09 Cupra TDi the other day. He was impressed and pulled over to ask about mine.

If you're getting a TDi then make sure you get it de-cat & straight piped. Sounded sweet.

What i did when i installed mine was to cut off the bridge as close to the loom as possible and cut off the connector at the other end as close as possible. I then wrapped the new GP loom with insulation tape and just routed it next to the existing loom. I think in all it took about 1.5 to 1.75 hrs to complete.

Cupra is petrol the FR is diesel. I'm swapping over, altough i like the pull of the diesel i prefer the extra rev range of the petrol as i come from a motorbike background. Might revo it later to take the torque up.

Sorry to double post, but just had a call back from a VW garage, they said that there's no glow plug wiring loom for my car & that it's all built into the Engine Wiring Loom... which is a nightmare & £400.

Gunna change the plugs today to see if the prob goes away. Wish me luck!

some may say lala land....
yours is an FR+ going by the picture in signature.
if so, yes that part number is the Glow Plug Harness bridge wiring loom.
plug on one end that plugs in by the pollen filter and 4wires about 3foot long with black bar and four small bars of it which push on to each plug

never a 400quid job

look for a thread in the tdi section, it has all the part numbers you need and even links to a very easy to follow guide (i'm thick and t worked for me) - recall titled glow plug 150PD

Ta Jolly, will pester them tomorrow.

Oldman, no I have the Cupra. I've put the LCR rear bumper on it so it looks a bit like the FR+.
Same as yours actually, going by your sig - "04 Leon Cupra TDi"

I'll check for the thread tomoz.

Hopefully when I've got the new glows in tonight lady luck will be with me and I won't need anything else doing... never the way though, is it!

yep, mine is standard 04 Cupra, not even a fancy FR..

ah ok, you'll be fine doing the glow plugs; clear code and monitor.
be about 3months and then error may well come back, at which point change the harness -> well that seems to be the pattern
