Booked my LCR in for its 10k service today. Could not believe how polite the lady was who dealt with me over the phone.
Clarified the reason for booking it in, the age, mileage. Asked if it had any problems - when I mentioned the dash rattle asked if there was anything else - almost felt sad that there wasn't.
Offered a courtesy car without prompting - even though it is going in soon (on Friday). Told me there was either a £10 charge for their insurance or I could arrange my own - opted to pay.
I will let you know how I get on. Considering neg's experience at Willoughbys, I may just sit in the Harvester watching!

Glad to hear you've had good service. I've certainly found their servicing better than their sales (bad experience there). I'd avoid paying for the insurance though. All you need to do is get the details of the car they're giving you, call your insurance company and they'll fax you a certificate free of charge, assuming the car you're getting is a lower insurance group than the one you have. I thought the tenner was pretty cheeky since I've never been charged before, but hey, that's just my experience.

My brothers went in for a service and then again for the de-locking as he had been impressed with the service both times. When they did the lock, we dropped it off at 8.30 and he had a call around 10am informing him they had finished - now thats what I like to see not leaving it until last thing at night.

Looks like they have bucked up their ideas !

I just went along with the £10 due to the fact that I had been on nights this week - little time to sort anything out. Glad I decided against a walk- bit chilly/slippy this morning - inercoolers loved it though
Pleasant experience dropping it off this morning. Didn't see the Scottish salesman who put me off buying from there.
Doh!!! Knew I should have booked it in for a delock at the same time.
Update you later - wonder if they will Swissol it?!? :bleh:

Mission accomplished

Got a 'phone call 4 hours after I dropped the car off - it was ready.
Arriving back there I thought there was a clean version of mine - then realised it was mine. First time I can remember having a car washed whilst in for a service.
The staff member who dealt with me explained what had been done, how they had traced and cured the dash rattle. They even picked up the slight scuff on one of the alloys.
They must use some good brake cleaner - the Brembos looked like new.
Car feels really nice to drive - not that it was a problem before. Just 'fresher' - and no dash rattle.
All in £141 including £10 for courtesy car insurance.

 for GK Derby.

20k service update

A couple of weeks ago, the time arrived to arrange the LCRs annual service and I contacted GK Derby to book it in. The young lady who took all the details was very thorough and made sure all items that required attention were listed. I also booked a courtesy car.
I had a letter last week to confirm the insurance provision for the courtesy car.
It went in today and once again all the items I wanted looking at were listed and clarified. Very polite at the service reception and courtesy car arranged - I agreed to pay the £4.99 to waiver the excess and use their insurance.
I got a call mid afternoon to say it was ready and the front brake pads were mentioned. I declined these as I have some "en route" from elsewhere - no pushiness from GK though.
I arrived to collect it and Mick (Service Manager?) asked if I had got 10 minutes to spare as they hadn't washed it yet. I said it didn't matter as I needed to get home - but nice to have the offer.
I had a chat with Mick whilst he was sorting out the bill. He says he does drop in to this site on occasion - as do SEAT themselves. At the end of the day, they like to have feedback so they can improve the service they offer. It would also benefit them if they were informed of shortcomings - instead of just being slagged off on a forum. He is also aware of Revo etc - appreciates that it is out there and in use and understands that owners do like to improve their cars - just don't treat the dealers like morons though!
Finally, the damage - £200 all in for the 20k service, brake fluid change and the courtesy car insurance waiver. Mick was puzzled why other dealers seem to charge more for Rs.

Overall experience of GK Derby:

I went in on Saturday to ask about trading in my FR, and they really didn't want to know. I was the only one in there and the service was just so poor.

Then I went into VW next door - loads of customers looking at cars and I was still approached by a a very very helpful and polite member of staff asking if I needed any assistance.

Went to Audi a bit further down the road on and had great experience again.

I know it is the dealer and not the brand, but it made me almost quite ashamed to be a Seat owner.

Willoughby in Beeston have always been really good for me, just a shame they are so far away.

they didnt wash mine when it went back for its 10k service!

apart from that though the overall experience was good, including when i was initially interested in buying it and got a good deal on the price of the car.

I found the sales service to be v. poor but on the servicing side/ parts ordering side, there spot on,

i wanted to test drive an ibiza tdi when i was looking to buy, i said i had 9k to spend and the reply was, "the cheapest we have is 9.5k" fair enough i said, i then asked for a test drive and he declined due to me not having that much to spend on an ibiza!!!

im still very happy with their service tho,
