Getting to the vacuum hose at the turbo end

Hi guys,

I'm after a wee bit of advice.

On my TDI 110 SE, I'm slowly replacing all of the vacuum hoses as I was having vacuum loss (now solved) and am on my last hose which is causing me trouble - The N75 to turbo hose. I was wondering where is best to go from to get to where this hose connects to the turbo. I've tried from various parts of the bay stretching down but can't seem to reach.

Am happy to remove bits to make way but would like to know where to go in from rather than removing parts to find out that's not the right way.

Thank you! :)

I was afraid you might say that! :) Time to borrow a proper jack and some axle stands!

You can get an axle stand and jack kit for cheap from halfords, it's pretty rubbish but good enough for most small diy bits n bobs.

Thanks guys, I might just invest in these. I come from a 6 years worth of brand new cars I didn't dare touch so it's nice to get stuck back into these DIY bits.

Apparently, I know exactly what I want to do in the engine bay but can't work out how to jack the car up and put the axle stands in the right place. Slightly embarrassing to ask but where are the jacking points and where is best to place the axle stands.

If anyone has any pictures to illustrate, I'd be very grateful.
