Sadly it will always be the case for any dealers but i guess they are too willing to do the time for the crime nowadays

The 6m thing is it block gps devices within 6m so outside GPS devices are ok. The tracking authority effectively won't see the GPS device.

Have you seen gone in 60 seconds???;)

Well, I managed to pull my SKC code from the ECU using a cheap Chinese clone of VAG K+CAN Commander. I was hoping to post a howto on the forum with screenshots etc. but I can't add images until I've posted 15 times :(

A guide to finding your SKC using VAG K+CAN Commander 1.4

Was it relatively easy?

It's not too hard if you have a reasonable understanding of the concepts involved. I've written a little guide that demonstrates what you need to do to get your SKC.

I can't give you a direct link because I haven't made enough posts, so you'll have to manually copy and paste the following into your address bar:

Code:
ajames.pulsewidth.org.uk/leon/extract_secret_key_code.html

Hope it helps!

BTW, there is a key programming facility in VAG K+CAN Commander, but it didn't seem to work correctly for me. I used VWTOOL (which also came with the cable) to adapt my keys. I can write a guide for that if there is sufficient interest...

Got my cable and software finally! Yet, I got problems trying to install the bloody program on my laptop. Did you do yours on XP or is it on Vista?

XP for me. The software installed ok but you have to get the USB drivers, can't remember if they're on the CD or not. If not just do a google search.

Cheers, Ill probably quickly wipe my laptop and get XP on it. I couldnt find anything on the disc that would resemble the drivers. Ill pop it in on google. Hopefully I might get my transponder coded then finally my key is all sorted :D.

Ive got the VAG commander one, hoping to use deltrons guide to getting the code.
Got the drivers installed, but doesnt want to run the VAG Commander setup, does it have to be connected to the car in order for it to install.
