Hi Guys - An Update:

I picked the Cupra up yesterday - what a machine compaired to the Deisel FR !!

Eveything was fine - apart from rusty hubs - as someone mentioned, though the agent would not do anything about this !!
And - a few scratches on the gear knob (which is a pet hate) -again they would not do this under warranty - but have promised to fit a replacement at the lowest cost for the replacement gearknob.
The wheels are genuine Black Seat - as the car has been a demonstrator for Seat, since being registered - the wheels and the Xenon Directional Headlights are genuine.

I'll post pics - once I figured out how to do it.

What can be done with the hubs?

Rusty hubs though annoying, can be easily rectified as DIY job.

We fixed my own, rubbed them down, treated them with a NO RUST prevention solution then sprayed them over with Matt Silver colour Smoothrite. Everything was available from the local Halfords.

Just ensure you mask off the discs and brake calipers and the wheel face (where the wheel touches the hub) with plenty of old newspaper and masking tape to prevent paint getting anywhere other than the hub areas that need painting.

We did this last summer, and my hubs are as good as the day we did them. It's a shame it can't be done at the factory like this, it's cost cutting at the end of the day.

But the surface rust doesn't in anyway prevent the hubs doing their desired function, so the dealers can't rectify it.

Do it Yourself and do it right. :)

Best pic I can find of one of my painted hubs, but I'm sure I've got some more at home I can dig out whihc illustrate the process better.

Congrats on getting the Cupra! Check for vibrating air vents and dash internals also my rear boot lifters/struts where they secure to the car went rusty very quick. :) Oh and Carlack/Klasse AIO would be a good place to start for a beginer with paint cleaning and protection. CG miracle dryer i find better than the megs offerings. Enjoy the car!!
