Gearstick rattle/vibrate.

I picked up my 06 reg ibiza fr tdi on wed and from day one the gear stick rattles when in neutral. Just put the car into neutral in traffic and the stick vibrates, if i move it left or right slightly it goes away until i stop again. Any ideas??

Mine does it to, i put it down to diesel vibration ! part and parcel of a derv

It's a very common problem on TDi's. My Ibiza FR did it when it was new but after a couple of thousand miles it disappeared and hasn't come back. You should be able to just nudge the gearstick to a position where it doesn't do it. I think it is due to the new engine not running quite as smoothly as it will later. It's not just Ibizas – the Fabia VRS does it as well.

1500 miles still there prob a bit worse now when cold goes away when warm no idea? goin to get it looked at next week
