Gearbox - need help!

I've had this for a good few months now. When going from second to 3rd at high revs something crunches up near the base of the gearstick and its a bit reluctant to slot into 3rd.

Its fine for normal driving and giving death in any other gear is fine.

Any ideas what it is?!

Worn syncro ring id say in the gearbox.

Could try an oil change for some thinner stuf and see if it will work its way deeper into the ring (ooo err).

Could changing the transmission fluid get rid of it? or would i need to go further...?

i had this problem with my gearbox, they ended up changing 1st, 2nd, 3rd gears balcun rings, syncro's oil and loads of other parts to sort it, i thought these gearboxes where mean't to be bullet proof
