Gear Shift Indicator not working correctly

As above, for a while my 61 reg ibiza 1.2tdi (manual) has been running poorly under acceleration and throttle lift off. It feels jerky like revs are dropping very quick, and when accelerating there is a slight delay before engine responds ( almost feels like a brief clutch slip).

Now the shift indicator seems to be playing up, the gear indicator which tells you what gear you are in only displays when I lift off the throttle and disappears again when the accelerator is pressed. This is the opposite of how it should operate.

Does anyone think this could be linked to a throttle position sensor fault? There are no codes or engine lights.

Any help appreciated !
