I've just noticed a similar noise today (like you I had the stereo turned down for the first time in ages). Will check the tyres tomorrow.
Coincidently I also noticed the car bobbles (if thats the right word) around for a short distance when setting off after it's been parked up a couple of days. There's no vibration, wobbling steering wheel or pulling to one side and I assumed it was the tyres holding the shape due to the cold weather
