Full respray, how much?

Hi all, been thinking of respraying my ovni yellow lcr in the near future, just wondering how much should it roughly cost? Looking to get it done in Ovni again, just the outside. Will this be a bit cheaper than a change of colour? I think a respray is my only option as I've been looking around the forum and it seems that the clearcoat on the ovni wasn't very good in the first place. I thought about just getting the bonnet resprayed (which is almost white now ) but then I still have the problem of the filler cap/spoiler/front wings standing out from the car, so it either has to be all or nothing I think.

Any advice is appreciated, cheers

Don't mean to be funny but how does the price determin what sort of quality you get?

Does the sprayer just spray the outside and not in the door shuts and stuff for less money or is there just craters, dust, blobs and so on in the cheap spray job?

The price generally covers the labour costs of preparation, and for a paint job preparation is everything. The cost of materials are really low compared to the cost of the work itself.

I really need to get my done at somepoint! In all fairness, there's only really a couple of panels that need attention but with mine being the dreaded ovni if I don't get it all done, nothing will match!

The problem I've got is that round Nottingham/Derby way, everyone's quoting silly money to do the work - £2k upwards!!! :(

I was quoted £3000 for my respray but thats with all glass out, doors, bumpers tailgate and bonnet off and the inside the door shuts done, i am planning to do all the prep work my self so should save a few quid.

That's where I would expect it to be for a full colour change and all the panels off as you said. I guess its the same, colour change or not though if you want that same attention to detail. A respray has to be done properly because when you come to sell the car on, if the visible stuff is crap, then you have to question what its hiding underneath. Just not sure if I could spend half a car's value on a spray job though.

I have been considering having the Toledo blown over (keeping to the same colour) just as a tidy up job, but want a cupra front bumper and side skirts to put on it first.

£3K can buy you a tidy R33 Skyline

I would never spend £2K on a respray for a car worth less then 5K, unless it was something very special, built ground up, that's just my opinion of course everyone is welcome to there's

You don't have to go to some well known sprayer 'all' the time, some local corner road body shops do superb work, in Birmingham there are thousands...... I see them sprayed 58 Reg and above BMW's, Mercedes all the time and mint too.
