Front wipers not working

What things can I try and check before taking this problem to the dealer?

Like what fuses to check?
Can the wiper system be reset by disconnecting the battery?
If I replace one of the wiper motors do I need to reset it with vagcom - if so how?
Any other suggestions etc would be most helpful.

I have looked at the fuses and they seem to be fine. I think one of the wiper arm/linkages must have seized up after not having used the wipers for a couple of days after a car wash.
Does anyone know how to reset or get it going again after having lubed up all the joints?

Also make sure the bonnet is shut properly by opening and closing, the wipers are disabled when the bonnet is open.

I have opened and closed the bonnet lots of times since this has happened - so I can tick that off the list (thanks).

Also the windscreen washer still works fron and back and the rear wiper works fine.

I am also able to take out both wiper motors and I have VAGcom just need a bit more info about how the system works. Like whats the box in the middle to between the 2 motors? Is this the control unit?

I suggest everyone takes the scuttle dish off at some point to spray a bit of grease on the wiper motor linkage joints - so that this does not happen to you in the future.

I have hooked up VAGcom and have found the following 3 fault codes below. What does this mean? Is my driver side wiper motor dead? If I replaced it will it start working again, or is there coding required? Also what is the 'Local Databus? Any help would be much appreciated :)......

Ok so I have replaced the wiper motor with a new one. But still nothing?! What do I need to do to get it going? Do I need to clear the faults?

Any advice?

Just had a thought - when it says driver side in the VAGcom faults does that mean near side (passenger) or off side (driver) motor? Maybe I replaced the wrong one?

Ok I have spoken to a Seat dealer who told me that I need to take the code from the old wiper motor and input it to the new one. Anyone know if this is possible with VAGcom? Or how to do it?
