Front Near Side Tyre Wear

Hi All

Took my wheels off yesterday to clean the alloys. Front tyres due change as they are down to the marks. 19K not bad for a front set of Bridgstones.

Anyway the front nearside tyre is bald on the inside edge all the others are fine. Tracking I thought!!

My son then turned up with his MK2 Leon, had a look at his tyres & his front nearside is in the same condition as mine.

Has any one else had this problem!!!!!!

I dont know about your problem but Theres 2500 miles on my leon and the front ones are wearing disgracefully, really disapointed with the Pirellis..

Mine had pirelli's and were completely gone at 12000, wearing evenly but the centre tread was gone.

Mine had done 14,000 and inside front left tyre was totally bald, only just got it so took it back to garage who changed it for me, they dont know how or why but tracking wa not out and they could find nothing to explain it.

Checked my tyres tonight as I have covered 18500 miles. Still got a couple of mm left but noticed the same uneven "bald" wear in the inside of the drivers tyre.

Its going in for a service on Monday so will mention it then...

I have had only a handful of new cars and its always worth getting the front tracking sorted out after a couple thousand miles. Nearly every car has needed adjustment.

That sounds like overinflation

Thought that myself but they were spot on. Did try lowering the pressures but it drove horrible. New dunlops seem to be wearing much better...
