somewhere near you.
LMAO at the borrower that appeared. :D

After getting my ear bent for how many months about exhausts by im-in-doors, I like the new one better than the original. Looks good.

My Mk2 Ibiza Cupra 8VGti /sport whatever whatever..
Written off as Category 'C' after a shunt in the rear whilst sat at traffic lights.

Purchased for a steal back in autum/winter '06... sat looking very sorry for itself for a while due to having been Sorn by previous owner and kept as Sorn by me ( to enable me to get a few bits, get it through the VIC check etc)

First major purchases wre the replacement tailgate (wrong colour, but a lot straighter than the original one ;)), slam panel etc and some replacement rear clusters due to the originals being smashed in the crash (cheers for the heads up, AndyJ)

Sat in this guise for a fair while whilst it was VIC'd then once done and MOT'd (failed only on front suspension mounts, suprisingly considering the smack in the back it had) it then had a bit of filler -work done to plump its ass back properly

Once done, the red strip was sourced, and fitted over the summer, as was a few trips to various shows/meets etc.

finally , off it went to the Sprayers to have the rear end blown over, so ended up looking half decent by the end of summer..

Love threads like this. Can I ask though what you had to do to get the area around the boot catch looking straight again and the bit behind the slam panel? Any specialist tools to straighten these out or just a whack and plenty time smoothing with filler?

Cheers

A size eight, plenty of persuasion and a lot of luck to be honest, the only filler that was used was on the small panels, the O/S one being the worst of the two. the inner boot is still a little scarred, but its not like its showing and the carpets/trim hide most of it. Thanfully the original crash bar and the spare wheel had taken up a lot of the force on impact, which made saving it a lot easier.. I did look down the route of jigging , but the cost was prohibitive (most probably one of the reasons for the write-off in the first place).
