Hi,

I'm wondering if anybody has any detailed instructions on how to change the Diverter Valve (N249) on Leon FR TFSI (BWA Engine)?

I've tried the search function but have only been able to find instructions on the Cupra which is easier as can be accessed from the engine bay! Other than that there have been very simple statements like, jack car up, take drivers wheel off and do it that way... I would, however, appreciate something a little more detailed if anybody has done this themselves?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

3 x 7mm (or 6mm) allen bolts.

car up on ramp, look up behind the engine, cant miss it, sticking out the right hand side of the turbo.

common sense will explain the rest. its literally a 10 minute job. im forever putting the force spacer on and off lol.

i dont remove a wheel, i just go straight up from underneath.

i have my own ramps so its easier, but even if it was jacked up and i was laying under it, i dont see it being difficult. i find using the allen with a ratchet spanner works well.

Get this sorted then Paul?

Out of curiosity...did you just replace it with a RevD or go for a full removal and replace with another solution?

I've had a peek at the whitepaper but it would be no use to you.
It's more of an intro guide to the "new" 2.0 TFSI engine (back in 2005), from VW.
Good for beginners to see what's what. Had this since 2006 or so.

Happy to send it to you if you PM email.

Hi,

Never got a chance to get it up on the ramps as unfortunately I'm still waiting for them back off the brother-in-law, may try and get it up on axle stands tomorrow if weather is any better (pissing it down lol) and take a look then! I should have been clearer in the title, I'm simply replacing the old G valve with the Rev D :) I don't believe I have any boost leak at the minute but as I eventually plan on going stage 1 I may as well upgrade it now!

@Karl_w I'll try and get a few pics up when I do get around to doing it pal!!
