I had forgotten how high GB labour rates were lol We can do FR first service for £100 including proper Quantum long life oil and we are a SEAT dealer!!!!!

Just phoned Ryan Air, it appears a Seat Leon is not classed as 'Hand Luggage' Oh well was worth a try i guess....

You just pay up front for the services and get a discount... I payed £375 for the first 3 services - you can pay all in 1 or interest free payments..

I have just arranged a service deal with Autoworld in Chesterfield for my new Leon FR which covers 3 services up to 30,000 miles fully inclusive of parts, labour and VAT for £426 which I am paying by direct debit over 31 months 0%apr, £13.77.
I also am having an oil and filter change every 5,000 miles for £25 which I thought was quite good for a main Seat dealer.

Had my first Service done 2 weeks ago at Hampton Court Main dealer (where I bought the car), I paid £254.80, somewhat expensive in my opinion.

OMG LWCARAB u got robbed. seat tried to charge me £180, but i shopped around and went to a VW/Audi service centre which i used b4 for my ibiza. and they were £150. Not the cheapest but customer service is first class.
Advice next time would be shop around and remember u can have ur car service by VW or Audi dealers. it's ur consumer right

As far as I know it wont affect the warranty as long as they use genuine parts for the service.

I could be wrong though.

No as long as genuine Seat parts are used, the garage is VAT registered this is covered byt the Block Exemption Rule (BER) - EU ruling. I have used a good indie when I had a an Ala Romeo 156 and he also does VWs/Audis so I may well use him again

However it may effect goodwill at the stealers as someone has mentioned.

anybody know what is a reasonable price for the 20k service from a main dealer, just been quoted £299 for my 20k, from Hidsons Maidstone, tried to justify it by saying that the oil was £65 and they did a full fuel flush ....

depending on chassis number, 20k can be basic oil change, possibly pollen filter, and possibly brake fluid change. no major work involved. oil sounds VERY expensive???? flushes are a waste of money and form no part whatsoever of SEAT's servicing recommendations. Bottom line is that a 20k service should be approx £150 or less based on our labour rate of £60/hr.

Got it serviced today at VW main agent, total cost with courtesy car.......... £145, came down from the initial price of £171, cant be bad

In my experience its always better to go to an independant specialist! The reasons I found are they are cheaper, they know the cars better and in my opinion are better mechanics

When I had the CTR honda dealer wanted over £200 for the service but I got it done for £95 at a Jap performance place! I had to drive 80 miles to get there but still worth it!

Will be doing the same when the time comes for the seat and luckily stealth racing is just around the corner!

Warranty is not affected I had a claim on my CTR and they never questioned where I had the car serviced!

I had 2 quotes from local dealers 1 for £197 which included long life oil and one for £124 without long life oil. My question is which is better for my Mk2 Cupra as it is on a 10000 mile servoce interval and i would have thought long life oil was not needed

im booked in on Monday 23rd at W/ Livingstones for 30K service (MK2 FR TDI) and been quoted £107. Amazingly cheap. Also £21 for front wipers, Halfords were asking for £60 for these???

so who can provide a decent (i.e. cheap and good job) service for my fr tdi - its coming up to its 37k service (****, i have done way too many mailes in a short space of time!). silly question but i guess if its not serviced at a Seat garage then i don't get a Seat badge in the book either?

Seat cars in the UK come with 3 year warranty.
It is actually 2 year warranty (manufacturer)
plus 1 year dealer warranty.
I think if you use an independant VAT registered garage for servicing your first 2 years warranty are safe BUT you may lose the third year dealer warranty ....

I've got a service pack from Seat on my Leon FR TDi (due 20th July)

3 year service pack
estimated 36K miles per annum
which would be approx 3 services a year

got it for £1800

which works out at £200 per sevice.

Didn't think it was too bad considering firstly my mileage and also the fact that I spent just over £1800 this last year on servicing on my 02 Leon TDi SE. And unlike some dealers i know, they've offered their company FR every time mine goes in which will be written into the deal.

Bloody work mileage!
