I've just handed my company car back which was a 07 FR TFSI with 78k on it, it was absolute fun to drive, but on my list now is the latest FR's & also the Cupra. The sound system in the FR was to be honest not good at all, hence all the threads relating to speaker upgrades.

My question is, has the latest facelift FR/Cupra's sound system improved ? especially if you have the Seat Media System installed.

Your views please.

I cant comment on the Pre faclift but the Seat Media system in my facelift is fine. It compares with most standard OEM system I have heard.

I think the sound system in my pre-fl is really good, got it running on a Song headunit and can go to about 28 out 35 before it distorts :)

Danny.

I too think the stndard system is good.my a3 had Bose and that wasawful.Still the cd drive is playing up in the leon so I'm going to have to change it. I'll go for anew head unit and fit an amp a some speakers. But for a standard system it isn't bad

I've pre face lift Cupra and got a standard system, which is amped and no other speaker upgrades, the quality is fine for an oem system.

I have pre-fl FR TDi and the sound system is absolutely fine. A lot better than my mates BMW 3-Series. One thing I noticed though, if you are burning your cd's from MP£ (or just playing an MP3), it pays off to have high quality MP3's to start with. If you have low BR files then at the top end they become distorted. If you are using original cd's then you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks for your replies, now what to choose, another FR or a Cupra this time.

Depends if your after something with decent performance but excellent MPG or if your not bothered by MPG.

FR tdi if like me you want decent performance with 40mpg+

If your the latter then the Cupra [B)]

Oh and on the subject of the sound system, i cant comment on the standard head unit but the media system is a very good effort

I have a hi-end system in the house and found when I had the FR the system was excellent. Better than the golf R32 I had recently as well. The Cupra's the same system as far as I can see as the FR- really crisp sound and no need to tinker with bass/treble too much at all. Not sure if you had some loose wiring in your car. One of the highlights of having the FR to be honest was the quality of the standard system.

Cheers,
Iain
