FR = Black Magic or Inferi Black?

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help with a quick query?

On pre facelift FR models was the black paint Inferi Black or Black Magic?

I thought Cupra's were the only ones that used inferi black as an option?

If any of you with black FR's can check the log books for me?

Paint Code for Black Magic is: LC9Z

Paint Code for Inferi Black is: W9V

Found a replacement bumper for my car but the guy is quoting colour code W9V which i didnt think was possible for an FR bumper?

Black magic was the standard for FRs as you stated, my old one was Black Magic. If you get that bumper you'll have to get it resprayed as it't noticeable different.

Inferi Black is only for Cupra's.

Inferi Black has a red/purple fleck in sunlight and Pearl black is more a gold/blue pearl iirc.

Seems you guys seem to agree with me. So what we're saying then, is that either this guy advertising this FR bumper is wrong and it's a cupra bumper and not an FR - or he has the colour code wrong and it's black magic not inferi black?

Are there any identifying features on a cupra bumper over an FR bumper? I know the centre lip on the bumper is supposed to be black on a Cupra but I don't think u can tell the difference on a black bumper?

You can tell the difference with the painted lip as it's like a matte black.
Also, on the main centre grill, a Cupra bumper will have to cut outs either side where it curves round near the fixing points as this is for air flow, whereas the FR bumpers don't have this

Well ive spoken to the guy and hes double checked the paint code for me and definitely says that its W9V which is inferi black.

So i guess they must be cupra bumpers. Ah well nevermind.

Yup cupra bumpers, you can tell by the two air vents either side of the main grill like I said.
