I have thought about going for the black mirrors and front mesh, but I dont want people thinking Im trying to make my car look like a Cupra, im proud to have an FR. With the distance I drive, plus for going to the BTCC Meetings, I need a Diesel.

Also that TDI badge is becoming trendy in Motorsport, Audi has won Le Mans with a TDI, and now with Seat going to run Diesels in the BTCC, its a good time to have a Diesel.

Next improvement for me will be getting the font windows tinted (just a light tint)and getting the ECU Remapped.

The BTCC Diesel has around 270 Bhp, not that far to go. Lol

Sorry for the delayed reply Ali, working shifts can hinder the ability to reply.......

The Exhaust is a Dual Exit Milltek Non-Res S/S Full system, £495
I have lowered my car 30mm on Eibach springs, £158
Cost to fit both above, £120.

My Brakes were £1627 from Awesome, fitted.
I also got from them 12mm Eibach Spacers on the front, required to clear the Brakes, and 20mm Eibach spacers on the rear, this cost £142 inc longer Bolts.

The JE Design FR Bodykit was £685
Cost to paint and fit £300

Cost to refurbish wheels, £160

If my maths is ok, this means I have spent in total so far £3687.

A bargain.
Lol

Oh and JKK, you better believe it.
Lol

Hi Ali

My Insurance hasn't increased significantly and all of the above Mods are disclosed.
I am Insured through Adrian Flux and for Fully Comp I am £500 a year.
Not bad I think.

The Exhaust sounds good, quiet when you drive sane, louder when you drive more aggressively. Still sounds a wee bit like a smoth running tractor when you first start her up, but not as bad as it did before I upgraded my Exhaust.

I don't have a CAT down pipe.

If you do or have any details, let me know please.

Cheers mucker

Hey Again.

Well i have been thinking long and hard about this.
But i really want to get that body kit fitted to my car i mena it looks so good and i would love for mine to look that good so i hope you would not mind me copying your idea like.
Also my mum lives in stirling and i am right in saying you got it done in edinbrugh.
So when im back from iraq i will be in stirling for 2 weeks.
So i was hoping you could help me.
Just would like to know the company you got it done by and any contact info you have.
Also how long did they need your car for.
And finally where did you get your wheels done and how much did it cost.
Cheers for all your help.
Ali.
P.s will not be able to reply for around a week as Basra has kicked off so im off for a while ok.

Hi Ali

Of course I don't mind you getting the same kit.
Immitation is the ultimate form of flattery.
:)

The company that supplied the kit is Superspeed in Edinburgh, near to the Zoo.
Ask for Charlie. Tel: 0131 337 1000
He is the sole official distributer for JE Kits in the UK, and when I last spoke to him a couple of weeks ago, I was still the only 1 with the kit in the UK.
The kit will take 2-3 wks to arrive from Germany.
As I work in Edinburgh I just collected, but he can deliver anywhere in the UK.
When I got the kit it was £685 but due to the strong Euro, this will probably be a bit higher now.

The Bodyshop who painted & fitted the kit and Refurbished my Wheels is Campsie Coachworks in Lennoxtown, about 15 miles from Stirling, just outside Kirkintilloch in Glasgow.
It would take him a week and would cost around £500.
Ask for John, Tel: 01360 311 771.

I hope this helps you.

Don't forget to keep ducking in Iraq dude.

FRTDI170, I aint the most computer literate guy in the world, PM?????
It took me about 3 wks to work out how to attach images a few months back when I first posted info on my Brakes. Lol

I had to download my images onto my Bebo page.
if you do a search and if you are lucky you may find them there.

Good Hunting.

Zeshan & BanziBarn once again cheers for your opinions.

I accept what I have done so far may not be for everyone but all the comments so far have been mostly positive and it has made me even happier with the mods completed.

The problem with modifying is it is addictive, and there is a fine line between a nice car or a tarty boy racer mobile.

I hope I don't cross the line......

but as I said, it is addictive.

I think I'll tint windows or have it remapped next.

If anyone wishes to suggest any additional mods, I'm willing to listen.
;)
I do like the Bonnet Vent on the Diesel Touring car, [B)]anyone found anything similar?

Encounter on the M8

Hi Chan.

I remember you, I must admit I had to put my foot down to catch up with you on the M8.
You witnessed me driving Economy, please don't tell anyone. :)
As I live in Glasgow and work in Edinburgh, I have to do this sometimes to save me some cash.
I tell myself every penny I save is going towards my next mod.
I'm getting 500 miles out of a tank and averaging 42 MPG.
I could do much better, I have seen 50 MPG heading to work, but the fact that the M8 is lawless after 1am when I'm normally heading home after a Back shift, does tend to encourage me to put my foot down.
My record on a return trip is 25mins.
