the 'pioneers' of the laguna fmic, all have forge ones now - what does that tell you?

the only reason they have changed to forge intercooler is because it maxes out at 290bhp which for a lash up is pritty good and there all running over that

fact is you can save 100's on this..

i have a universal core to and with al the piping and welding and cilicones it cost me less than 330 pnd..

had to cut in the bumper but if you put in thin mesh like you have to do with the forge fmic kit also it looks original..

ibi what do you do for a living (and youre mates?) you have got to remember that most car owners on here are it bods and non technical, mates rates dont always apply.

look mate everyone who has a forge fmic will tell you to buy forge but if you wanna do your own thing good for you ive got a laguna fmic that works very well on other ibiza's so thats the route im going.
if everyone wants you to pay £700 for the forge fmic then maybe they will all chip in coz they seem to have a shed load of money

What laguna intercooler is best to use the 2.2 dci or the 1.9dci

do you no the part number of your laguna intercooler?

one that i was looking at the part number was 82-00-008-761 which i think is of the 1.9 dci

going to give it a go then with the laguna intercooler.

i have no dout that the forge fmic is a great kit, but as i can get the pipes and bends for free i reckon that i can do the laguna intercooler for next to nothing.

even if its not just AS GOOD as the forge one it cant be any worse than the stock one

Ask rogers, granted he didnt use a laguna one, but his custom intercooler was worse than standard.

Im not saying it doesn't, i was just making him aware of problems that other's have had with custom intercooler setups.

A big part of the reason that i went for the forge, over the others, is the fact that it looks good.
Where as other's, dont look as good, in my opinion.

i will post logs, many slate the laguna FMIC, i fitted one thinkign it would solve my poor power issues, didnt, so glad i didnt spend 600 quid on one. It helped alot, but a FMIC wasnt the solution to my problems

Only reason people upgraded from a laguna FMIC, is due to huge power increases, 300+ to be exact.

Temps are lower thah the forge FMIC imo, even on a hot day i see less than most with more advanced timing.

2.2dci is the bigger one (one i used)

I dunno if the 1.9 fits , but you could give it a go!

I think they both take higher boost, dont forget diesels run higher boost than most petrol turbo's anyways
