got to agree bill forge fmic just doesnt show any signs of heat on prolonged runs, very happy with mine (this log was pre n75F, used a C as comparison for boost.)

Yes, It's good. I just keep thinking 'what if'...as in what if ther was more space behind the crash bar and bumper for a leon thickness size core :p

Dor.

why?
It works no worse than my huge FMIC does.

Be preared to remove stuff to make it fit tho... even the forge one. :bleh:

Because if gives more flexibility to modify further. Not sure what FMIC your running at the moment bill, but I'm thinking that the flow and size of the forge core would not be suitable for your application. don't get me wrong. It's good. It's very good. But the physical size limitation of cramming it into the bay resticts it to a thin core. Whereas the Leon core is the size of the endcaps width wise.

Yer....fabricating that would be a bit of a nightmare! Still, Forge seem pretty capable though.

I'm wondering if it's not possible to make an adaption to have the SMIC going into the FMIC....

Of course the other thing is to see what the temps are as BHP goes up....

Dor.

dual IC's generally have higher p-loss.

almost any FMIC will be better than the pathetic SMIC seat chose to fit on the mk3 cupra's.
size of a letterbox on SMIC is just dire and the ibiza's downfall.

larger DP/cat/zorst & FMIC and then ibiza's can work as well as any other 1.8T (but in the lightest factory supplied package)

Comparison of whats on the Mk3 Cupra, vs Golf/Leon vs a typical FMIC. Shockingly small as standard

What kind of power can be run using the forge FMIC? Would it be good for a BT?

Unknown. Pete @ Forge recons it's good for 300.

BE aware that although it's sizable in width and height, it's a thin core. This means it's not spectacualrly larger in total core size then the original.

For Billy Big Power I think he had to move the Radiator / A/C Prerad and I think he may have even removed the A/C Prerad now...Bill?

p-loss is proportional to airflow so who knows what its "good for" but from the outside looks adequate for 99% of peeps on k0x type turbo's

I ran std SMIC when originally IHI'd. It flowed enough to produce 320bhp 280lbft from 1.2bar boost back then.
Cant imagine a forge FMIC working worse than that, including airflow.
