polo GTi engine is the same as the loop GTi which is on the book 125bhp , but when they have been RR'd they average about 130bhp
you can pick up the engines from the likes of Ebay and Edition38 forum usually about the grand mark . but then you need to remember that you will need to change the wiring loom as well which means ripping out the whole interior to change all the wiring over to do the job properly rather than cut and solder the wiring loom into standard ones . as for the brakes i would change the standard brakes to the GTi ones which are 256mm the thing is you will then need to change the hubs as well so you would need to do a brake conversion
GTi hubs
GTi calipers
GTi caliper carriers
GTi discs
GTi pads
then somebody to fit it all . then you could do a rear beam conversion from a loop GTI or sport , or a arosa sport so you convert it from discs from drums . i have looked into doing this conversion and the parts you would need are
Stub axels , brake lines , handbrake cables , discs , pads , OR you could take the whole rear beam off of a front end damaged car and then you would have everything for it and then you would just need to buy new handbrake cables priced at about £6 each and you need two . then again you need to find somebody to fit it all . the advantage of changing the whole rear beam is that it would save time on labour as they would just cut the old brake lines and unbolt the shockie and then the rear beam and it would all come off that as well as if you went for the GTi rear beam the rear anti roll bar is inside the rear beam so you would also get a GTi rear anti roll bar in the process . if you didnt get the whole rear beam then it would take more time in the garage costing more money as they would need to strip down the rear beam of the drums before they could start work
