Footwell lights and cable with connector missing!

Hi!

I have Seat Leon ITECH (2014).
The driver side and the passenger side footwell lights are missing.
I have checked under and see that there are places for driver and passenger for housing but it's empty. There is no cable hanging either where the housing should be connected to.

I even have a footwell light brightness setting in the car menu.

Any suggestions!

If You remove panels where footwell lights should be, probably wires is there somewhere behind other wires. if no, then they should be sourced from BCM T73C connector pin 72... grey/yellow cable for positive connection. If You want to retrofit it then Original LED (from face lift model) footwell light part number: 4E0 947 415, and connector part number: 8W0 971 832

If both lamps are missing, and the wiring is missing too, I would say it's safe to say they have never been fitted. Someone has probably been playing around with the coding, and ticked the box saying the lights are there. If you do a diagnostic scan, you will get an error saying they are not present. Easy retrofit though, one single cable from pin C72 of the BCM that splits to each lamp, and a ground (earth) lead from each lamp too, plus a bit of coding to get the dimming function working. I have posted a previous guide to this.

The wiring will not be there is the lamps were not fitted at the factory. To retrofit you need to install wiring. The factory lamps have simple W5W push in bulbs, cost very little, and it is very, very unlikely someone has removed the complete light units if the bulbs have blown

Is it normal that the wiring is not fitted at the factory?
Because how is it possible that on the screen there is an option for footwell lights, while the lamps are not even the wires..

The menu will be on screen if someone had been playing with the coding. It's only a tick box, if it's ticked the menu will appear. As said if not installed from the factory the wiring will not be there. Any later retrofit needs wiring installing from the BCM to the lamps you fit in the slots already cut out in the bottom of the dash panel as it will not be there

I would start with looking at BCM T73C connector pin 72... grey/yellow cable, if its there, somewhere should be connectors for lights. If its empty then its clear.

If You retrofit, I would recommend to retrofit original Led, in junkyards sometimes they cost about 2 eur :D (I bought from audi A6 MY2022, with same part number).
But if You have halogen lights in interior everywhere, probably then better to choose w5w bulbs, but then part number for carrier for sure is different, not sure about connector also.

P.S. I just retrofitted memory seats in Leon 5F8, and there was place for rear footwell lights, as I have full LED lights in interior from factory, so I was added LED lights for rear footwell also... (from factory there is no option for memory seats and rear footwell for leon :( ) but MQB is MQB - its like lego, take MQB parts from other cars and put in Yours... :D

If somebody needs, I have leftover original halogen footwell lights together with bulbs and connectors with pigtails (note, connectors are different from original Led lights).
Lets say 10 eur + shipping costs if somebody need them. Its not for business, just sell for lower price is no reason, as I need to dispatch them to post office or so and spend time and fuel on that.
