Foot rest upgrade

Hi there guys I am new to the forum. Have really gained a lot of info from you all already so I appreciate it.

I have a 2016 Seat Leon Fr Dsg. I have purchased some upgrade aluminium pedal covers as mentioned in many threads. However I am trying to identify the correct foot rest to fit my car. I have found a few on ebay for a golf mk7 but the sellers are not able to tell me if it will fit my car. Here is an example:

Any advice if this will fit would be massively appreciated! Thank you!

Trust me, they don't fit a DSG - they're too small! The footrest on the DSG is obviously much larger as there's no clutch pedal - you need a rhd DSG specific one - they're much wider and look like this;

Trust me a RHD drive version of the wider rest pedal doesn't exist, that's why someone come up with the one that the OP mentions.

I looked high and low all over the internet and couldn't find the RHD wide rest:)

@Curtis611 what does your foot rest look like? Is it shaped like mine, the original I taken out was shaped like the one I’ve posted. Or is it like the pic that @TripleBob posted? Take a pic of your footwell. The link you posted shows it fitted with dsg pedals

Closest match you can get for RHD DSG that's the same width as the stock footrest are either the super pricey ones from OSIR design (who won't ship to the UK any more because Brexit), or these from AliExpress
The manual RHD ones can be forced to fit, but are too narrow

I have one of the Mk7 Golf ones from eBay fitted to my FL DSG Cupra. Not as wide as the OEM ones and up close the finish is not quite OEM standard; but nestled down in the footwell it looks ok next to the pedals. Fit is fine too - the OEM plastic one has a deep recess for the bolt so you can use the same bolt with the narrower aftermarket one.

2 photos. On the close up, you can see the indentation on the carpet where the original fitted (approx 15 mm narrower):

I had a look on ebay but yours seems to be advertised as one for an automatic? I need one like yours (mines a manual too)
This one advertised is narrower than OEM plastic auto version, so is universal for manual or auto gearbox.

That is what is being referred to in post #4 @TripleBob above when he states that the auto one is too small.

Gents, would it be better to find a plate type footrest that uses self tapping screws to fix? This way you could keep the wider footrest (much preferred for dsg tbh) I’ll be on the lookout for what could be compatible. Sure there was one for the MK2

I seen someone post about this website a while back, they offer the footrests in manual or dsg. They don’t have the oem look similar to the pedals and they are bloody expensive, but it’s another option.
