Was driving around town when i think i hit a hole in the road (a la sunken ironworks). there was a loud bang but everything seemed ok.

As i was driving, whenever the clutch pulled (like if your slowing down using gears) there would be like a rubbing noise from the clutch.

Managed to limp home and checked the car and there seemed to be fluid/oil leaking from the front just to the right of the engine bay.

any ideas? could i have damaged the gearbox? how much would this cost to fix?

Thanks all!!

deepest sympathies mate. i had a leak a while back, got it fixed but the damage had already been done and my gearbox decided to destroy 4th, 5th and the lay shaft. a replacement box and a £900 bill later and i've just discovered that the driveshaft seals have gone spewing oil everywhere. :(

if the casing on your box is damaged and yours is the same as the LCR casing then i've got one in perfect condition ;)
