Folding wing mirror problem

Got to work today and folded wing mirrors in, now when i went to leave work they would not fold back out, check that they were not frozen etc ended up having to put them out manually. the fuse is ok assuming they are on the same one as the heated mirror fuse.

anybody came across this before?

try spinning the switch 360degrees in either direction..normally fixes mine when they stop working.

Fairly sure i have tried that also but will give it another go after tea... May stick vag-com on it later on if it will show up any faults... i imagine central electrics?

Maybe there is a basic setting to perform?

Disconnecting the battery and re-connecting it generally clears this problem up, not good pulling them open though.

yup had this problem too disconected battery n reconected .. not had problem since

It is as if its not locking in place as have to fold them in an out manually now the electric way wont work, gonna go disconnect my battery i think like suggested

Well tried disconnecting the battery for about 30 mins, and it worked, had a little spasm then sorted themselves out.
