Fog lights always on.

Anyone had an issue before with the light switch. When I select side lights or main lights on my front fog lights always come on as well. It seems the switch is knackered as If I put pressure on the switch I can turn them off again.

I can get the cover plate off but does anyone have a guide or idea how I take the switch out and replace it?

PNo for the switch seems to be 6L2941531P.

You've probably already checked this, but the switch needs to be pushed all the way in. If it's out one notch then the front fogs come one with sidelights and headlights, and if it's out two notches, then the rear fog light comes on aswell.

Just double check it's pushed right in. If it is, then it must be something else.

Yeah it's pushed all the way in. Even with the switch in the off position and the car running the front fogs will be on alone. I f I wiggle the switch about the fogs go off, so it's very likely the switch is knackered I just can't work out how to remove it once the front plate is off.

I expect he did what i'm going to have to do, replace the switch.
I have the same problem. My front fogs now come on with the ignition.
The pic below is from the workshop manual.
I found a website last week that was selling brand new left hand drive switches. It stated very clearly that it won't fir right hand drive. I didn't buy it wanting to check for myself. It appears that it look like the same switches, both lights and dimmers but the position is reversed. It was, i think, £20 plus p&p from Germany? Certainly from south of the Channel. I've since discovered that the light switch itself is separate from the bezel so it may be that the switches themselves are the same. Sadly i thought i'd saved the website but didn't and now i can't find it again.
Just make sure the switch you get has the right number of fog lights on it. Some cars only have rear fogs...

I swapped the headlight switch on my 2005 Ibiza earlier today. I couldn't get my head around how you can push the switch in, rotate it a bit to the right and then while pushing, pull out the switch so i removed the access panel for the OBD port to allow me to push the switch from behind. Then i discovered that the knob actually sticks 'in' allowing you to pull the whole switch out of the dash.
In the short video you can see the tab retract when you push and rotate the knob. There is another tab on the opposite side of the body.
