Guys, my 2.0Tdi has been fluctuating at idle, is there anything I can do?

Mine did this for the 1st time yesterday morning.

Could not get stable revs unless I kept revs above 1700RPM.

Is there anyway of telling if the coolant sensor is problematic via VAG-COM in anyway?

Need to drag this up, I got the throttle body cleaned at the last service, but the problem remains, its going in again next week and I'd like to get this issue sorted before I remap the engine.

Couple of questions for the TDi Experts.

1. Is it possible to clean/replace the MAF on a 2.0 TDi myself, could do it this weekend just to rule it out.

2. How much do Coolant sensors retail for, is it a big expensive job to replace  .

3. Is there anything else that could be causing this.

Thanks Gavin did you car throw up an error warning before it was hooked up to the computer.?
