After my first week with the new leon thought i'd give my take on it since there are a few people waiting on them!

Overall very impressed with the car, went for the yellow and i can say it makes the car look mint, good level of kit in car, engine has amazing level of torque, seats are ok but i personally prefer the cupra style ones, media system and Xenons def worth the extra cash, i do however think one thing is lacking! The Suspension!

This is my first diesel and have had 3 CTR'S before including 1 I still own, So it has been a big change in my driving style

Regarding some of the previous posts from people on the FR suspension being solid...
I personally think its like driving a bouncy castle!
Def gonna make it my first mod to get the suspension lowered and better springs, then DPF delete remap at CC!

Media System is very good, music wise i have my Ipod through it which works great and is all controlled by the steering wheel buttons!
Only used the Nav once and its very clear and gets you where you want to go easily!
Also its handy for parking in tight spaces as it shows the car when fitted with all the distance sensors. Well good for the Missus anyway!

Overall I'm glad i added it, as it adds a bit more to car even if it was that little bit extra cash!

7 weeks and counting for us looking forward to it. Interesting on the suspension we found it firm but deffo not bouncy. If you want bouncy you should try our Cadillac BLS for bouncy on undulating roads!!

Personally i have found it a lot more softer than what i'm used too, having driven the CTR's for so long that is probably why!

As you have driven the Caddy or a while i'm sure it while feel the opposite for you ;)

But as i say personally with the 18's the car feels and looks very high off the road thats all!

Nice Car! I got mine last friday - almost the same spec in white

it does look a bit too high for my liking but i did have all sorts of clearance problems with my last car (golf lowered 60mm)

does not really seem bouncy but i think road noise is higher coming from the back of the car (could be the tyres or over inflated tyres though??)

the media system is excellent but can only you control the climate on screen when using the radio only or when using media too?

Its not that its bouncy just soft and quite high! if thats makes sense

Def gonna go for better springs with maybe 30-40mm drop, to fill the arches up a bit!

As for the climate control mines only shows with radio and not the media strangely enough as well..

Getting mine tomorrow morning... cant wait !

Test drove the FR for 3 days in August and loved it, didnt think the ride was too high or soft but then i was driving a Mondeo Titanium X at the time.

Got an email from the dealers this morning to advise that they havent received the navigation cd with the car as they are still waiting for them at HQ apparently... thats coming next week through the post.

Went for the media and convenience pack on mine, standard 17's so we'll see how that compares to ones on 18's.

I agreee the gap between the wheelarches is too high its bigger than the Caddy and much bigger than my FL 118d with M Sport suspension. That had a little bounce from the rear in certain conditions partly caused by the runcrap tyres!!

CTR is a very firm ride so I can understand it feeling different we have gone for 17" wheels to reduce tyre roard and make the ride a little more compliant.

Was gonna go for the White myself but the still got a Championship White Type-R so didn't want two white cars! So went for the next best colour ;)

As for the 18's and road noise, i honestly don't think the noise is too bad on them! Just needing a cheeky wee Eibach kit to sort the height issue out :D

Good to hear your enjoying it!

I personally find the FR Suspension Quite good , Compared to my Old Ibiza

My Ibiza was slammed down on FK Highsports and that was worse that driving a bouncy castle

The facelift FR has a softer suspension setting than the older FR. They softened it because so many complained it was too hard. The FR got slated in the press for it too.

Yeah its def a personal preference when it comes to the suspension, i know the pre-fl were slated for being solid.
As my mates 58 plate K1 has a standard suspension and is a lot lot more firmer than the FL suspension. But then again i'm not sure if the K1 has been set up to be solid!

But there will be people that think the new FL suspension is still firm! So its all down to what you are used too i suppose, which in my case is a very firm ride that you can throw into corners

I've covered 5000 miles now in my FL FR. I think the suspension is spot on, it's softer and more comfortable than the pre facelift, but still handles well. Interestingly I read a review on the car that said Seat has improved the handling significantly by softening the suspension as the wheels are now in contact with the road more - never driven back to back with the pre-facelift so no idea if it is the usual gumpf they write in magazines or actually true!

But I agree, a little drop in height wouldn't go amiss...

Hi Just to ask a silly question - the auto lights on mine seem to be on most of the time (as in 3pm todaywhen i thought it was light enough for them not to be on!) how sensitive are yours - do you think i could have a problem with them ?

thanks

That sound about right. The auto lights on my Cupra are very sensitive too. I think this is pretty much standard with Seat. Mine do come on when the sun is low in the sky.
