First wash

Picked up my lovely new fr last week. Had a lot of fun, and a permenent smile on my face. Only down side was that it was totaly filthy :( So today was the first wash. Looks great now, but really suffered from water marks that wouldnt even polish out properly. Think I was a bit slow, and the water dried on, any other tips ? I used the 2 bucket method, with wash mits, and a synthetic drying cloth.

Used Autoglm bodywork shampoo/conditioner then super resin polish (i understand there is a polish for dark cars called ultra deep shine that i might try next time).

Tomorrow will seal the outside with autoglm extra gloss protection, and clean the inside, and coat the seats and mats with a nano particle sealer for the seats and mats - supposed to stop spills from staining.

Am I heading in the right direction with the cleaning regime? I am a lady who is used to using car washes  but really want to do it properly this time ;)

Car is looking great. I wouldnt say there was much difference in the autoglym polishes, I use the ultra deep shine and it is fantastic on black.

As for the water marks I use Meguiars Nxt speed detailer, which is a product perfect for black cars or any colour, once its washed, should there be any water marks or smears just spray this on and wipe off, just ideal for quick touch ups, must be my favourite product

id seal ur polish with a wax, megs do them or try polishedbliss.co.uk and get some blue poorboys natty

to prevent swirls i would get urself a lambsool mitt and use the 2 bucket method when washing your car and dont put brushes or sponges anywhere near it

Love the shine mate, but it doesn't last for long. It's feels like a weekly job sometimes, just to keep them looking good. Black cars great when clean but take some serious looking after.
