Hi ,

Colin said he would get back to you today as I was mailing him about something else and he told me you had been in touch. Mike the sales manager is very helpful as well.

Both Bickets and Livingstones are good garages. I bought a few cars from Livingstones in the past. I dealt with David Brown (really nice guy) but they are not as competitive as Bickets.

I have had a few problems with Sandy in servicing at Livingstones but on the whole a good company.

Bickets service has problems too but both are miles better than AC.

Hi,

Thanks. I was hoping to have heard from Colin today but nothing so far - if I haven't heard later tonight I'll email again as I'd like to get things sorted out over the weekend.

David Brown is the salesman I saw at Livingstone's and I really liked him - seemed very straight forward and very nice. I have emailed him asking what his best price would be and he replied this afternoon saying that he had been away on a course but would get back soon.

AC emailed this afternoon with their better offer - beating Livingstone's by £300 - don't think I'm interested for that amount.

We're still only at £8810 for an April 04 Golf 1.9 TDI SE with 8600 miles on the clock against full list price for the Leon.

I'm hoping for better - am I being unrealistic?

That's OK. My Golf was bought from Verve and I would have gone back there if I was going for a Golf again.

Still an independant privately owned business we are!!!
Verve are owned by an individual,Mr Adair, who cherishes our original values.
So we may not be owned by Mr Bicket anymore, but we will still offer the same sales/aftersales service as before...in fact watch this space, as deals may get even better!!

Birmingham members dependant on where you are in Birmingham I would consider going to the dealers in Droitwich - Droitwich Garage Ltd They are very helpful and a lot better equiped than colliers!!

Although there is a new dealership opening at Star City in the coming months in the old toyota garage if you know it. SO may well be worth seeing what there prices are liek as well.

I can vouch for that David Cook SEAT! top dealer, small family owned business.
Had my 30k service on my Altea there back in December, i am sure it was £91 (or £99) lol!! Took my car in, they give me a decent spec Ibiza for the day (only cost to me was my insurance).

Was down there on Saturday picking my car up from a warranty job and giving my dad some time to have a look at a Leon FR. Had a nice chat with Mr David Cook himself! Top Bloke!

Will give the forum a mention this week when i go back to have front screen replaced!

service cost os the same I think, £70 - £90, it's how much they charge for labour that makes the dif.

Does the service book tell you what gets changed and at whet service? I don't have the proper service book as the garage lost it before delivery and gave me a duplicate service book that tells me sod all. Its only got space for stamps and dates.:censored:
