FIRST GEAR PROB 2L 16v ADVICE?? ALSO ABS LIGHT PROB

Hello all i had the clutch replaced today on my 97 beeza now all is fine and dandy EXCEPT i'm having trouble getting into 1st gear there is no crunching and all other gears are fine any ideas (yes it was like this before clutch was replaced thought this would cure it but the clutch was burnt out aswell so needed doing)ALSO ABS light stays on all the time any ideas how to cure this?? thanks in advance

P.S one day i'll be able to attend some meets when the car gets done

either an issue inside the box (worn syncro or mech) or a slim possibility the cable or pedal box - mine started getting harder to get in gear when the pedal box started splitting

id have a look at the lug on the pedal box to check and check the cable is pulling fully when operating

whats it like in reverse ?

on the move the other gears will slip in easier even with the clutch not operating fully

Update!!!

Car was driving fine last night (other than first) yet after taking it out today reverse is hard to engage (crunching) other gears seem to be getting harder to engage any more advice??

ALSO is there a good SEAT garage in Leicestershire or surrounding area's other than main dealer's who could offer advice etc (a good independant) ta

or even the links in the engine bay
