How much roughly does it costs to fill up the tank of a 1.6TDI at the moment?

According to SEAT it has a 45L tank, so that multiplied by your local diesel costs = your answer

i filled mine up yesterday, when the diesel light just come on, it said i had around 25 miles left in tank and i put in 40 litres and it cast me 45 quid. £1.10 a litre here

Out of interest how many miles are you getting out of a tank? I am getting around 460 miles.

erm... i cant remember the exact but its around about 400 odd 420 some where like it! its only got 1300 mile on the clock, and i have had a heavy foot since it hit the 1000 mark lol... no money this month so this tank is gonna be steady so see what mpg i can get out of this

getting a cost to fill up a tank gives you little or no indication of running cost, you want mpg at the very least.

I took a trip in my fr to York which is about 190 miles I used just under 3/4 of a tank getting there and backI cruised it up there not going much over 80. Thought I was going to use a tank each way but was really impressed

Wow... Is the 1.6 worse on fuel than the cupra? I'm getting about 350miles and thats with the odd blast on the lanes. (v-power)

tank sizes vary, so you at least need to know the size of the tank and current diesel prices to take anything from this question.
If the tank was smaller and so the cost less would this be better..!?

Well no you'd still be doing the same MPG as you would with a car with the same engine but bigger tank. You'd just be filling up more often in the car with the smaller tank..

if you fill up normally from near empty you will get about 42-43 litres. If you fill up the expansion tank aswell by "venting" you will get about 54litres. On my fabia 1.9tdi it costs me about £47 in normal tank. And about £61 if i also fill expansion tank. Hope this helps.
