not brilliant pictures by a long shot but a few folk were asking for some pics since i got it. picked it up on friday (23rd feb)

used to drive a mk2 1.4 and the difference in the cupra sport is brilliant for me at the moment, very good low down torque, all i need tbh as i dont race around at speeds.

metallic black, full seat history with loads of reciepts, totally standard and minted example inside and out and under the bonnet...

cant stop washing it, love the colour of the car, the metallic is lovely, so a couple of pics until i get round to putting my coilovers back on it (sunny days are few and far between in scotland)

A quick word for the coilovers boys on here (u know who u are :p ) yes it will be getting slammed again, u can see the FK's sitting on my drive in one of the pics :D
enjoy, although only camera phone quality im affraid and the sun was shining on the paint a bit too much

Nice looking car fella. I remember when i upgraded from my 1.4 mk2 to the cupra. Was the best feeling in the world driving it back.
The metalic really shines.

Dave there is a pattern here. Just like me you have upgraded from a red 1.4 to a metallic black GTI (although mines a 16v :p). SLAM her to the ground again, but do it now. Because if you are waiting for a dry sunny day in SCOTLAND to do it, then it might not be lowered till about august, lol.

cheers everyone :)
yeah its a mint example (hence flying down to lincoln and driving 350 miles home) just to get it!

mig - scotland was roasting today! 12 degrees it was readingl lol, pitty i had uni and work or id have made a half hearted attempt at lowering part of it today!
cant wait to lower it, although i feel it handles pretty damn well for standard springs and shocks!

i'll post up my progress on it as funds allow and get some better pics with a proper digital camera.

thanks again, David

I don't know how you boys manage to go round low.

I had 60mm springs and shocks on mine and the sump and bellhousing took a serious bashing and the wings got mangled. Oh and every speedhump pulled the exhaust off. I've had to buy new 40mm springs so it actually drives.

Well that's the advantage of having coilovers rather then springs, because you can adjust the height EXACLY how you need it. Mine is basically the lowest it will go without scraping. If I were to lower it 5mm more, I'd rub on the arches and wouldn't be able to go up multistory car parks.

mines was too low last time, going to need to raise it this time unfortunately cos of the side skirts and my new stainless exhaust - dont want that getting clattered about all the time.

ive been working full time this week/end so ive not had a chance to get my hands dirty, might make a start soon, need to clean the coilovers tho, because the s/s bodies are filthy with dirt and need a good soaking in WD40 so i can raise them.
