I know this has been covered a billion times but there are a few new products on the market now.

My LCR came with two Continentals on the front and two budgets on the back, the Contis sidewalls have now started to split and the budgets are dangerous in the wet, at the weekend I ended up backwards on a roundabout, needless to say it scared the :censored: out of me, so time for a matching set of new tyres me thinks!

My budget is £100ish per corner.

I'm split between:

- Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta (my favourites, have glowing reviews everywhere)
- Vredstein Ultrac Vorti
- Falken F-452 (second choice, have glowing reviews everywhere aswell)
- Falken F-453

Which ones would you go for? (ignoring price)
Are the revised versions of theses two highly rated tyres worth the extra money?
Or is there a another tyre I should consider, at around £100 per corner?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. I'm on my second set. I had Falken FK452s on my car when I bought it, the Vreds are streets ahead completely, wet or dry. Having said that, I'm tempted to try the Vorti's next time but the Sessantas are a fantastic tyre end of story, never mind the price.

Sweet well Vreds it is then :D has anyone had any experience with this site: www.lovetyres.com

Their prices for the 225/40/18 Sessanta and Vorti seem too good to be true. A quick google search brought up an unhappy customer complaining after he ordered his tyres they rang him up asking for an extra £60 per corner due to the prices on the web being wrong.

Take the Sessantas, or my choice the Pirelli P-Zero Rosso which is the standard fit. Superb in the dry, a touch skittish in the wet though - can be had for £98 a corner.

But the Sessanta was the best deal at sub-£90, last time I checked at Camskill.

Im in need to two new tyres, I'm having my MOT done at halfords autocentre and was thinking of replacing the two front which are now illegal limit to the Goodyear Efficient Pro Grips. Theres been some good reviews but everyone on the forum seems to be loving the Sessantas, For £82 a piece that seems a bargain but has anyone heard anything about the Goodyears?
Cheers

Just had around a 50 mile round trip in them they seem really good, in wet and dry parts too!
The tyre wall although are pretty thick so there won't be any poke of alloy or the slightest poke if thats what you like.
I picked them up from lovetyres.com.. Only £82/tyre £8 for delivery as well next day if you order before 4pm weekdays..
Hope that was any help to you mate

Sidewalls are stiff because they are a sport/fast road tyre, gives better feedback that way. That's a good price too, result.

Interesting read. Vredestein were very popular in Scooby land when I had one. I put Falken 453's on the front of the LCR about a month ago. Took ages to bed in. I've got REVO stage 1 and they spun up in wet quite badly until I'd done about 200 miles. They were OK in the corners it was the rotation slip that was the issue.

Sessantas would be my choice from your selection. But for an extra £20 a corner I run Continental SportContact 5 (XL/MO spec) tyres. Excellent on the road, lots of grip and really good in the wet (better than any other tyre ive ecountered).

I was thinking of running my coilovers just so the arch covers the top of the tyre..
With the Sessantas it might scrub though, i have Ventus V12 on the back but i'd rather keep them there as the sessantas are giving me more grip at the front...
