Fault code 00258 Solenoid 1-N88, Help

Hi,

MK2 Seat Leon 2.0TDI, won't start!! Had diagnostics done came up with fault code 00258 P0753?? Had a look here http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/00258 and references the solenoid, where is this solenoid and has anyone else had this fault? How did you sort it?

I have read of problems with this and tiptronic transmission or auto boxes have you either of these or is it manual?

This is a shift soleniod. Have a look at page 19

Have there been floods where you are? - Might be water somewhere it shouldn't be?

I am not sure where exactly but have a look around the gearbox.

Mine car is a manual, I think it might be the solenoid at the front of the engine on the EGR its making some high pitched noises I think this is the turbo charger waste gate solenoid valve??

Don't suppose anyone knows about these do they???

The wastegate solenoid is the N75.

If you think there are problems with the EGR or N75, you could try doing a output test on the engine controller. It will step you through it and you can hear everything working.

It will then show whether there are any problems with the outputs. N88 is definitely transmission, however, it could be something else throwing that out.
