Garage ran out of ideas, i only have a cat-back exhaust and the cat is looking a bit iffy so could the cat be fooked and causeing this???

Car is running fine, guy in the garage said with being remap ect could be causeing it???

Here is some test readings

NO CHECKED

CO 0.67% 0.30 MAX
FAIL

HC 54ppm 200 MAX
PASS

Lambda 1.01 0.97-1.03
PASS

NATURAL IDLE TEST

RPM---- 450-1500
NO CHECKED

ask other people with similar mods if theirs passed MOT with Vpower. try cleaning throttle body, and MAF sensor. tried vagcom on it yet?

Oil in the cylinder can cause higher CO2 emissions or a bad air/fuel mix. your cat takes unburnt fuel and converts it to CO2 and H2O, and turns CO to CO2 so technically high CO2 could mean your Cat it doing its job. It could also be worn piston rings, or sticky piston rings. If your engines got some miles on it then try some Redex to flush the cylinders out a bit. Oh and it's MURDO180 posting in laura's name incase anything i've said is absolute mince lol. keeping myself covered from a slap on the head.

right plugs?

Whack the old ones in if you have them.

check for leaks etc

but pouring chemicals in & v-power is useless.

New ones are the exact same as the old ones mate, noticed the other day when i took my splitter dv apart to clean it that the spring was snaped in half that would explain boost not holding.

Could this make my car run rich or lean???

So u think redx is just a gimmick then mate

Think am gonna try a new cat gonna go for a blueflame system with a 200cell sports cat need the dp and sports cat for when i fit the new ko3s turbo anyway.

Fingers crossed this works mebe not having a sports cat or decat has caused the inside of the cat to brake up inside with the extra power going thro??

does your car run any n249 etc bypasses?
does block 001 on vagcom show any movement on %?

if bypasses are done badly adaption will not work, ecu stops adapting = mot fail

saw it only last week on a local S3
solenoids plugged back in and hey presto adaptions worked and emissions worked. (it also had a slow main lambda probe, which was'nt helping)

Yea mate car is n249 bypassed, dont have vag-com to do any logs

See how u have 2 valves on top of engine, 1 which is leading to actuator ect and the other which sits just pluged in, well the 1 which just sits pluged in i have no valve there it melted.

Could this cause this??

Thanks Rab
