Ah, in that case, not simple or maybe even possible (and certainly not cheap). The heater panel is built into the display
They did, and somebody also fitted an led in the interior to illuminate the panel from afar. My Monaro had a similar arrangement to light the gear stick.I'm sure someone on here bought and fitted small luminous dots next to the heating controls, and that looked a good quick fix.
Use to have that in the Altea... factory fitted down lighting... red as I recall... down lighting all the rage in 2004. Seat touch. Two beams or was it one that illuminated the controls from the roof mirror assembly area. They probably moved to led behind the controls then thought it was cool to have nothing
.
I'm sure @East Yorkshire Retrofits can tell me whether the new infotainment with the bottom controls is "mib4" and whether that is what is fitted to the facelifted Formentor or some not fully fledged unit. Where they have a bottom line of multifunction controls. In the Tavascan.
All the same tech. Somewhere along the line they decided you needed to fumble with the controls in the 2020 - 2024 period on some Vag cars probably the MQB Evo ones.I’ve had the red downlighting (two beams) in VW Golfs of the same era that I owned; the downlighting matched the red backlighting of the other interior controls / switches fitted in the Golf at the time.
To be honest I can’t really fault MIB4All the same tech. Somewhere along the line they decided you needed to fumble with the controls in the 2020 - 2024 period on some Vag cars probably the MQB Evo ones.
Personally I've yet to see the 2025- controls. Cupra dealers are thin on the ground round here. My summer treat to see what mib4 looks like and that bottom row of controls. Whether they are blessed on all incarnation of mib4 or not front display. Not sure. Pictures appreciated.
Well VAG could help their own image and also repair some of the damage done to their reputation by MIB3 by offering a cost effective MIB3 to MIB4 retrofit. If it came in at under £400 I'd certainly pay that, as the current system is bearable, but frustrating. To be honest I can’t really fault MIB4
