Morning People.

I have had a search about and find that people have lots of views about exhausts.

Im intrested in changing the exhaust to get ready for a remap, what kind of exhaust would you recommend. I normally go for magnex and ive heard there quiet which is what I want, but people also say there a smaller exit.

If people could post pics and view that would be great.

Also what BHP should I expect out of a remap + exhaust, or is the exhaust not worth changing?

Car is still under dealer warranty so will the computer be able to tell them ive changed the exhaust if something goes wrong and I put it back to standard?

Cheers
Steve

Mate - some details about the car you have would help :D..
Are you talking about just the back box or whole system incl CAT?

Generally speaking (and according to a couple exhaust specialists i have spoken) changing the exhaust on a standard setup won't see you uch return - maybe 5-6 bhp..
Unless you plan to get a stage 2 remap...i wouldn't bother at the moment unless you want it for cosmetic reasons..

Edit; - just noticed your profile 2004 Cupra R right?

Standard cupra r exhaust is fine, the bad parts are the downpipe and cat,
so without changin these all you'll get is a bit more noise!
If your not planning on going all out then its not worth it IMHO!
If you do plan on going all out you've got Blueflame, Miltek, Piper and APR.!

After looking through the many posts on here i think that Miltek seem to be the best option (although they cost a little more than some others) personally i'll probably get a miltek for mr LCR but I didn't know whether it's worth paying out more for the resonated one...

Some sound clips of res/non would be helpful chaps...

Sorry should of said about my car.

Its a near standard 2005 LCR, running Relocation kit, Splitter valve, TIP, and waiting for a new air box to smooth and panel filter.

Not sure about the different stages of remaps, dont mind doing the down pipe etc but i dont want it loud on exhaust noise.

stage 2 is 270-280 bhp right?

And what will it do to the MPG, if driven like i do now (which isnt hard apart from the odd bit) getting mid 20'2 mpg

Cheers
Steve

I've got a Blueflame D/P and Race Cat on mine mated to a Magnex Cat Back. Unless you're going to stage 2 there is no need to do your exhaust.

Pic of Magnex (Only one i've got atm):

Just so you are aware cupra duper you are talking quite a bit on $
for example a dp from apr you are talking pretty much 1 G
the blue flame one is a little cheaper but have heard of bad customer service from them so personally im staying well away
