Exhaust - ibiza cupra 180

Hello,

I'm wondering if the downpipe for the Golf GTI sold at Ebay.com will fit in my car.
there are many sellers of the same item and the price is about 140$ shipped to israel.
my plan is to install the downpipe and a 200 cell cat and (which i have) and then to install the "test pipe" that comes with the downpipe in order to reduce the pipe size back to 2.25"(is it ?) connecting it to the rest of the exhaust.

Is it possible ?
Will it make a diffrence (power) ?

I currently have a revo stage 2 map, autobahn88 silicone intake and a green filter - what should i upgrade next ? (don't say suspension !!).

Thanks.

i imagine the downpipe wont fit

if i were you id forget about the 200cell cat you have bought and just buy the milltek sports cat 100cell it bolts to the turbo pipe and then twins up with you standard rear/centre exhaust. or just buy the COMPLETE kit!

I would gladly do that, the only problem is the price.
in israel there are a lot of taxes issues that sums about 50% + of the price. thats why i'm looking for cheap tricks.

the question remains- will it work ?

personally speaking, nope. Your best off simply removing the cat altogether ( not sure on israels MOT etc or if you even have one) and then get a custom pipe for the rear.

Overall Milltek is the best option and gives nice increases, but as you say cost will be the problem to get it shpped abroad etc. I doubt the golf one would fit due to differing position in car etc and the golf being larger

Not a good idea as it's likely to light up your dash more than a Christmas tree!!!

Besides there's a better chance of hell freezing over, than it passing it's MOT. For future reference we're kind of screwed here on these things as we take the stricter of whichever regulation is presiding in the EU/UK or USA/Canada then make it tougher... Taxes work much the same way{we get a break at the start of 2008 about 72%customs+15.5%VAT then all the road taxes won't be less than 100% & at least another 25%-300%:scary: if you lust after anything more than basic transportation bigger engine, sports car, convertible, premium badge, SUV{at least they got this one right}! To better understand if one changes tire size not even talking about rims but tires you need government approval then you can't switch back & it's permanently written in the REG.!

imo find an exhaust company in israel to custom make you the COMPLETE system this will be your cheapest option then as i dont recon the golf exhaust will fit!

Thank you all for your input.
I guess i'll pass on the item at Ebay and fit a custom made exhaust here.

You must know that there is a growing community of modders in israel thats using your forum on a dailly basis. --> Keep up the good work !!

As for my other question:
1. is there a really noticeable diffrence bypassing the N.249 ?
2. what would you recommend upgrading next .... ?

Thanks again,
Hagay b.

bypassing the n249 valve is a good mod if you have uprated the boosch standard recirculating valve forge007p for example this n249 valve just protects your standard valve as it is simply useless and weak but when youve uprated it this saftey valve is no longer needed hense the *bypass* as the recirculating valves are silent this holds boost a tiny bit better and also makes a more notaciable noise for you TTTSSSSHHHH lovers! good free mod!

id uprated to coilovers and spacers :p

I realise this is an old thread but I have done the N249 bypass and have noticed exactly what has been described above, but at ED38 this weekend I basically got laughed at by a tuning company for doing it because apparently the N249 is a vital safety feature  Apparently it allows the engine to dump boost under full boost conditions should it need to or something like that, and has nothing to do with having an uprated DV. Hence the vacuum chamber on top the engine block. I can't remember exactly what the guy said tbh, but he seemed completely against this mod. If it's that much of a safety issue I'd change it back but I've had it like this for months with no issues and I like the added sound from my 007p lol

anyone know anything else about this?
