Iv got a magnex exhaust on my car but every 6 months or so i have to replace the rubber bushes (think thats what they are called) as they start to crack. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have taken it to some exhaust 'specialist' in the past and they just told me id have to live with it

I put some powerflex poly bushes on my exhaust, it was banging no end. Its solved it apart from really bad bumps.

Apparently all other normal bushes can flex slightly even when new, these were only a fiver from halfords, or any other internet site.

Didnt solve the lumpy idle and temperamental 'i will accelerate smooth when i feel like it' bad attitude from the car though

Incidentally to fit them. The old mounts are a simple bolt off, but the old mounts have a tube which is similar to a rivot at both ends ie tapers out, which i had to grind down and replace with a normal nut and bolt.

You can get some which have metal inside which are better - I think C&R in Nottingham do them.

On mine I just put a large zip tie round the outside of the rubber - it's been like that for the past 6 or 7 years.
