Excess pollution warning light??

Got my baby back from the stealer. It was the engine coolant temp sensor, and they`ve replaced it. Obviously cost far too much!!!!!!:

The vagcom cable sounds like a good idea, especially as we`re buying a Skoda Fabia for the missus (I suppose same system being vag) and i`m typing away on a laptop as we speak, so that bit sorted. Where`s the best place to download the software from, to save me a net trawl!!!

There is a free version and a paid-for version which I guess lets you do more stuff. The free version will let you scan for codes. You might then have to stick the code into Google to see what it actually is.

Turns out mine was a faulty temp sensor. £100 later......I'm getting Vagcom

I had the same thing on mine, reset the warning light but it came back after about a week. Turned out to be the coolant temperature sender unit. £25 for the sensor + 3/4 hour labour at my local friendly non Seat garage.
