ETOS help

hello mk4 people!!!!

did a search and it seems theres a lot of mk4'ers that know/use the ETKA,ELSA, and ETOS systems.

i have a problem with my ETOS. it installs fine but when i go to run ETOS, it comes up with the initial screen to choose your make (seat, vw, etc) but then comes up with an error [1667] with the ETOS_spk.fdt file and you have to press ok and it terminates the program

anyone know why this happens? it seems its quite common cos i've found the error mentioned on lots of german sites (after a google search!) but this is no use to me as i dont speak german and google translations are more than poor!!!

you installed the hd/hard lock or whatever its called?

What exactly is ETOS ?
I've used ETKA, never seen ETOS though.

ELSA is electronic service manual
ETOS is both

i dont KNOW this for sure. but this is the conclusion that has been drawn on threads on this forum before (as i found out after a quick search yesterday)

ETOS is a parts catalogue like ETKA but is a "light" version, but it covers VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda. it also runs in its own window so you dont have to mess about with resolution settings etc. HTH
