Hey, I just bought my 20VT cupra, its Sweet but i have a problem with my EPC light on my dash, its fine around town etc but as soon as i go on motorway and start doin more than 40 miles ish at a time the EPC lights up.
any ideas? or do i have to go to SEAT dealer and run diagnostics??
Did you buy it privately or from a dealer? If you bought it from a dealer, and have the SEAT assistance, you can call out the AA guy who can run a diagnostic. Otherwise try to find someone local with VAG-COM.
Bought from a dealer, problem is dealer is not SEAT and therefore does not have the diagnostic pod. got a quote from local VW garage at 100£ ish, seems a bit steep to run a full diagnostic or is that about right???
gonna go phone the tw*t who sold me the car and ask him to send me some bling to cover the cost!!! btw, this site rocks for help!!! love the cupra, hate the problem!!
Yeah Love IT!
went to an little back street garage with a VAG-COM, hooked it up was down to the temperature sensor in the coolant system, the guy reset the system, light turned off, huge cost of £3 (gotta love the beer!) Job's-a-goodun problem solved, cheers for your fast reponses.
No, he reset the sensor, said it was probably due to a bump of the sensor (my bad, stupid boy racer clio & speed bumps!!) or the sensor relaying information to the ECU that is incorrect. he reset it for me & its all good.
yeah he said it is a common fault, and he thinks it will be about 12 - 15£ from local parts shop & about half hour to fit, so all in all about 30£ But tbh, VW wanted that to unwrap the VAG from the box . . i hate dealerships!!!
I've got a problem with my EPC light. Its on at the moment. I pluged the diagnostics machine in an it says "Blarke light switch - not a plausable signal" I have changed the brake light switch (white one) and the Brake pedal switch (blue one), the clutch pedal sensor, the engine coolant temprarue sensor and fianally the MAF. Any ideas its doing my head in!!
