EPC and emission control system lights on?

Hi,

I have a Ibiza DAB (56). Both the EPC and Emission control system lights came on when i started it up this morning. I've never seen these lights on before. Also when i start the car up it lacks in power. But when i turn the car off and switch it straight back on the cars power returns but with both lights still on. I drove 75 miles with the lights on and the car seems fine. Could anyone give me advice or is it a trip to a Seat garage?

Now if you buy a Gendan VAG scan tool for about £40 then you would have a clearer idea of what had happened - and then consider if taking it to the garage was necessary - also this tool lets you clear the fault light(s) - after writing them down first! If this fault has gone away the lights will go off after about 6 engine starts - though the fault code will still remain in memory until cleared.
