Hey people jus picked up my cupra r on sat and having alot of fun everythin seems fine, apart from one thing the engine temp gauge in the dash seems to take a long time to for anything to happen eg needle move!its obviously all connected cause sometimes it does work and the light comes on when starting ignition!anyone else noticed this?

i assume your talking about engine coolant temp...

it does take a while to warm up (and the oil takes even longer) so you shouldn't boot it too much until everythings warmed up nicely.

If sometimes it doesn't work at all though somethings up with the sensor or something. Do you get three beeps when you first start up? I often do...its just a dodgy sensor which is built into the coolant bottle.

yeah mine never goes over 90c either...sometimes it'll go lower but never higher.

I'd prob stick on the newer type coolant temp sender anyway (green one). It'll go eventually and they make your car run like shite when it does. (thats a diff sensor to the one I mentioned above btw)
