Hi everyone I'm new on here.
I've got a mk1 Leon cupra and want to change the cambelt but I've been reading some manuals and they say that when you remove the engine mounts you need to replace the bolts.
I've been looking online but just am not sure the bolts I've been finding are the right ones, I've emailed my local dealer to see if there's anything they can do in regards to getting the right ones ordered in for me but in case they can't help does anybody know where I can get the right bits.

its for the engine mount on the left hand side where the cam belt is if you looking at the engine from the front of the car.

cheers.

Hi, I didnt replace the bolts, they came out and went in fine and torqued to their factory torque no problems. The main thing is dont put them in or out without supporting the engine and make sure you start them by hand first so as not to cross thread.

What bolts are they? Can you send a link or part no etc?
They are the bolts for the left hand engine mount the ones that you should replace when you remove it to change the cambelt. I’ll put the photos of them and the part numbers below

The second link you attached are the right ones as they match up with the ones on the diagram seat gave me you'd need number 13 and 14 off of there too. I nearly bought that same set but for the sake of 5 quid more I just asked my local dealer and knew the ones I was on about. if you can't find the ones for number 13 and 14 on the diagram just do the same as I did got them within 3 days

Thanks. So I contact them directly and ask for these specific bolts? Also do you know if they still sell the timing belt kits directly? If not it’s fine and just the bolts then.

thanks!

Yeah all I did was sent them an email saying im after the bolts for the engine mounts on the cambelt side of the engine and they sent me back a list with the part numbers and prices. I didn't ask them about the cambelt kits though as I have got my own already. But if you ask them about the bolts it shouldn't be an issue.

Just find your nearest seat dealer and send them an email thats what I did and they sorted it all out. you can pick them up off of them then also
Ah. Thanks for your help. One other thing- did you use coolant flush too during this process or just filled it up after installing the new water pump?

I haven't actually done it yet :ROFLMAO: I've got all the bits to do it but am just procrastinating. I did the timing belt on my daily C2 the other day and just filled that back up after putting a new water pump in and bled it so id probably do the same for this unless you need to flush it that's all ill be doing when I get round to it.

yeah its going to be in a month or two. my first car after sharing the family one. done a lot of maintenance/ fixes to it and cant wait for it to be 100% where i want it to be. a lot of it was replacing worn parts like the driveshafts and brake parts as well as small visual bits :)

Ah ok fair enough yeah I'm the same with mine at the moment there's a few little bits I need to do mainly bodywork and like the usual maintenance stuff and some stuff on the interior and then its pretty much where I want it and I can start using it.

I got these bolts today and gonna take it in for a service in the next few weeks. I got a quote from the dealer for about £30 but I found them a lot cheaper from lllparts and ordered them last week. Thanks for your help. I also got replacement bolts for the shocks as I’m doing them too!

I wanna say thank you again for all your help. I got the timing belt kit done on Monday and everything so far has been solid. I ended up buying from lllparts so I saved about 50% but took a bit longer to come. Paid about £15 for the whole set
