Engine management problem

Hi All,

Soon after I bought a MK3 2002 a 1.4 MPI Ibiza the coilpack blew and took out a fuse. Replaced Coilpack and also leads as the ends broke in the coilpack.
Had ECU error codes removed but as soon as the car is driven they Engine Management light comes back on.

It does not come on at idle after being reset

These are the error codes

VAG-COM Version: Release 409.1-US
Control Module Part Number: 6K0 906 032 AC
Component and/or Version: ME7.5.10 4192
Software Coding: 00001
Work Shop Code: WSC 06402

2 Faults Found:
17756 - Ignition Coil Power Output Stage 1 Open Circuit
P1348 - 35-00 - -
17757 - Ignition Coil Power Output Stage 2 Open Circuit
P1349 - 35-00
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Car drives fine so am confused with what the error codes are trying to tell me. Where is Output stage 1 and 2 and if open ciorcuit would you expect the car to drive.

:help:

Hope someone can advise what the problem is

thanks

I bought it from Ebay, an item number of the same coil pack is 370142078867

Can be found by doing a search for "seat dry coil" on ebay

there is probably your problem (hate to say it)

I've posted quite a few times on here that our cars do not like non original coilpacks. They will work but the ECU notices that something is not right.

my thought is that if you replace it with a genuine one the codes will clear.

Coilpacks is not an item you should try and save a couple of quid on

As said above non OEM coilpacks can cause problems, get the vehicle plugging into vag.com

my cars got exact same problem only i have 3 error codes all indicating missfire.. saying missfire and then missfire 1 and missfire 2... seat had recommended the throttle body and ecu!?.. i replaced the throttle body sorting another problem with missfiring at higher revs out but it still running rough as hell with engine management light on.. i replaced the coil pack next and tried a few second hand ones.. no luck there too.. same codes still showing.. so maybe it is deffo the ecun..

i can pick up a second hand ecu from a local scrap yard.. i have been told that as long as the last 204 digits of the code match then they should be swappable and should work so i'm going to try that..

the coild packs i bought were second hand.. but they were from a seat and were branded bosch ones.. seat recommended the ecu being the problem.. so am gonna assume they are correct however i've never trusted main dealers before as they always wrong usually.
