Engine Management Light flashing

Well i was heading out last, got around 4-5 miles into my trip and just after down changing gear for a corner the Engine Management Light started flashing, I was in +/- so changed back to D and backed off the power. It flashed at my around 5-6 times and just went off.

There was no power lose or change in the car at all. Have driven around 60 miles since and the car is fine.

Think I will phone Seat on monday, but does anyone have any idea what it means....or if I should be worried, the car has only done around 3500 miles and it was taken easy for the first 1000.

Many of us are getting the same problems with the car me included. It only happens now and again but it shouldn't happen at all. Chances are if you hook it up to diagnostics it'll have a lot of unknown codes.

Been covered plenty of times mate. Either need an ECU update if it has not been done. Alternatively if they can get fault codes off there, the next solution would be new injectors or coil packs. this is a well known issue with these engines even though VW will not openly admit it. Most of us have had this issue already including myself. Fight the dealers as they may try and get out of sorting it under warranty.

I will call them on monday as it is due back into the garage soon (4th time since i got due to other warranty issues) when my part arrive for other issues i have been having.

I wasn't going quickly either so it's abit weird.

I will see what happens and I hope it's nothing to worry about.

No temperature gauge leaves me to only guess when its warm, that and some dodgey rounderbouts require me to be quick on the accelerator, not like im red lining it.

Nothing the car shouldnt be able to take.

I generally drive steadily for 15 minutes or so at least before i give it anything. It's frustrating not having a gauge though. In regards to this issue being related to the car not being warmed up, i've had it happen half way through a 4 hour motorway journey...

Ahhhh ok i thought by flooring it u were balls out. I boot mine after 10 or so mins. Normally 5 miles into my journey then she cools for 5mins before shut off

Tbh I dont really like balls out flooring it, like to keep the mpg high. I use the speed when it comes to the exit from my work as i need a responsive car to cross 4 lanes of traffic in the space of about 2-300 yards every time i leave site lol.

Every day its a hit or miss effort as to what may side swipe me at 80mph in the supposedly 50mph limit at the end of the A46!

I have engine temp and oil temp in my Polo. It takes around 5 mins of town driving to get up to 90.C water temp.

Boody hell thats quick, my old 2.0 16v used to take a good 10-15 min for it to get to operating temp. Since new I've never taken it over 2,000rpm for the first 10 min. Since my EPC and missfire problems i was wondering if i was giving it long enough, nice to know I've been doing the right thing

There is a known fault by Seat, i think they call it a TPR, where they will replace your fuel pump as it's got a design flaw.

Take it to Seat and they'll find this using their computers.
