Engine judder

Bought my leon fr150 in september 06. Had it chipped by seditas in Prestwick, Ayrshire, delt Michael who seemed on the ball, with using a super chip. This has supposed to have taken the seat from 150 bhp to 190bhp. Not sure but it feels quick. Never thought to ask about it until now but in 4,5 n 6th gear at low revs if you floor it the engine judders.

It doesn't feel as if the clutch is slipping. It feels more like its over fuelin and thats what seems to cause the judder. You never get it in 1,2,3. in fourth at low revs you can just feel it, 5th slighlty more then in 6th as is said at the bottom end the whole car judders and the engine light flashes....never stays on. I just let the throttle of slightly and wait till the revs are up.

i thought it was just the norm after the Superchip was fitted! Does anyone think it would be worth going back to the company that chipped it. I don't want to look like an idiot 6mnths after it was fitted. I spoke to a mechanic at Seat Bickets in Kilmarnock but he's never heard of that kind of problem.

If the engine light is flashing i would have a diagnostic chq done to see if it has stored any faults.

Failing that it is hard for me to say without seeing the car and the file loaded to the ecu.

Typical overfueling,,, mine does the same in 4th and 5th,,, just learnt to drive around it,,, never heard of glow plug light flashing for this tho,,,
I'd go back to the chipper and ask for a slight drop in fueling at those specific revs,,, mind you I had this for 5 years now and never had a problem but if you can avoid it then just go for it!!

engine judder, i had something similar but mine was like hitting a block in the fuel line, but my tuner gave me another map and it was gone got it in 4th about 60mph while giving it some. thats why i dont like chips they are a standard map where as direct port they generaly flash yiur ecu then suit the map to your specific car.

It could be your DMF vibrating???

Common problem when booting it al low revs.

Not that you you should have your foot on the floor at those revs...:ban:

It sounds like DMF resonance, should be cured by knocking back fuelling a tad. You're definitely right to get the map altered to cure it.

My Ibiza did it when I experimented with adding a resistor mod to increase fuelling (engine was already chipped ...)
